Kassidi Gilgenast for Woodland Park
School District Board of Education

A parent, coach, volunteer, community leader and business executive dedicated to our community and committed to supporting all kids.

Hello, I'm Kassidi Gilgenast, and I am a 10-year resident of Woodland Park, mom of two kids, a coach, a community volunteer and a sports business executive. I'm running for the Woodland Park School District Board of Education to bring strategic vision, collaborative leadership, and a strong positive culture to our district.

Our mountain community deserves a school district that brings us together around our shared values: excellence in education, fiscal responsibility, care for this community and preparing our kids for bright futures. I'm committed to fostering stability and growth through transparent, balanced governance, meaningful community engagement, and unwavering focus on student success.

Meet Kassidi

I'm a lifelong Coloradan and Woodland Park has been my home for 10 years. My husband Erik and I chose this community because of its beautiful surroundings, strong community, adventurous spirit. I grew up in a family that appreciated the outdoors and taught me to camp, hunt, fish and explore at a young age and I learned critical leadership skills as a high school and collegiate athlete.

We’re proud to be a military family, and I bring a unique perspective on service, sacrifice, and commitment to the community. My husband is an active duty U.S. Army Special Forces operator with 17 years of distinguished service, having deployed eight times worldwide in high-stakes operational environments and combat zones with 10th Special Forces Group out of Fort Carson.

Since moving to Woodland Park in 2014, I have had the opportunity to work with hundreds of WPHS kids through athletics as a coach with the girls volleyball program. I’ve organized community events like the Annual City Cleanup since 2016 and volunteered in the classroom at Columbine Elementary.

In my career as a sports business executive, I have had the opportunity to develop strategic plans, manage multi-million dollar budgets, negotiate contracts with corporate partners and lead high-performing teams.

I’m ready to share my experience and skills to Board of Education for Woodland Park School District.
