A parent, coach and community leader with a vision for a strong culture, an engaged community, and academic excellence in our schools.

Woodland Park has everything it takes to be an exceptional school district – engaged families, dedicated teachers, strong community support, and students ready to achieve great things.

I'm Kassidi Gilgenast, and I'm running for the Woodland Park School District Board of Education to bring strategic vision, passion for education, and collaborative leadership to build on our strengths and create the excellent schools our children deserve.

For 10 years, I've been working alongside families, teachers, students, and citizens in our schools and our community. From the volleyball court to the classroom, I've seen what we can accomplish when we combine high expectations with strong culture, clear goals with collaborative engagement.

It's time to unite our community around a bold vision for the future of educational excellence in Woodland Park.

Meet Kassidi

I'm a lifelong Coloradan and Woodland Park has been my home for 10 years. My husband Erik and I chose this community because of its beautiful surroundings, strong community, adventurous spirit.

As a military family, we bring a unique perspective on service, sacrifice, and commitment to the community. My husband is an active duty U.S. Army Special Forces operator with 17 years of distinguished service, having deployed eight times worldwide in high-stakes operational environments and combat zones with 10th Special Forces Group. I understand the adversity that military families face, and I also understand the strength that comes from military values like integrity, commitment to mission, and putting service before self.

As a Parent

I have two children in the Woodland Park School District. Like every parent, I want them to reach their full potential academically, be good neighbors, develop strong character, and be prepared for whatever path they choose after graduation. My decisions on the school board will always center on this question: "How do we create opportunities for every child to excel?"

As a Coach and Mentor

For the past 10 years, I've coached volleyball at Woodland Park High School, working with hundreds of students to help them develop both athletic skills and life skills. The best teams I've coached aren't just collections of talented individuals – they're groups that learn to combine their different strengths toward shared goals of excellence and mutual support.

Coaching has taught me that success comes from setting high expectations, building a strong culture and celebrating progress and where everyone contributes to collective achievement. These same principles apply to great school districts.

As a Community Leader

Service has always been central to my life. As Vice Chair, then Chair of Keep Woodland Park Beautiful, I've organized projects that bring neighbors together to improve our shared community. Through my work as a parent representative on the School and District Accountability Committees, I've gained deep insight into how our schools operate and where we can build on our successes.

As President of Woodland Park Volleyball Club, I have spent countless hours on the court helping our kids develop their skills, built organizational infrastructure and launched impactful programs.

Whether it's coordinating volunteers for a community project or developing team strategies on the volleyball court, I've learned that the most successful initiatives start with a clear vision, engage all stakeholders, and focus everyone's energy on achieving concrete goals together.

As a Professional

My career as an executive in both Olympic and professional sports has given me extensive experience managing complex budgets, leading teams through change, and developing long-term strategic plans. I understand that effective leadership requires both vision and execution – the ability to see what's possible and the skills to make it happen.

As a Volunteer

Whether its in the classroom, on the field, at an event or in a barn, I’m always ready to pitch in and help lend a hand and be a team player.
